From www.netbookitalia.it

From www.netbookitalia.it

The Italian made AmazePC has just proclaimed its CyberBook N10 netbook option.  It comes rather bare-bones and one has to install a number of items before it can be used such as a Hard drive, operating system, and memory.

Advantage: One is able to customize some of the specs directly off hand instead of upgrading later.  Also there is no operating system involved, so if one wants open source software and not Windows, there is no tax.

AmazePC CyberBook N10 specs:

  • 1.6GHz N270 Atom processor
  • 10.2 ” 1024*600 screen
  • Networking: LAN 10/100, WiFi 802,11 b/g, Bluetooth, 3G optional, GPS optional
  • 250mm x 195,6 millimetre x 25 millimetre

Comes in a variety of bright colors and is expected to cost 213 Euros.  Seems a little pricey to me considering all the expenses one will need to put into the netbook immediately.

From www.pcworld.com

Tegra chips are low powered processors that are especially made for mobile devices.  Nvidia’s Mobinnova N910 uses a Tegra chip and has some pretty good specs which are laid out by Bill Henry.

The first is that it is fast.  PC World conducted all kinds of speed tests especially with regards to the net and saw its potential.  HD Video stream was error free.

The Netbook Option can have around 10 hours of life.  This is a great length of life for the highly mobile person these days.

The design is also quite sleek, packing the ports in the back of the netbook.  The battery slip in and out very easily for optimal typing at various angles.

The biggest bonus is that the price will be somewhere around $200!!!  A fast and very affordable netbook option.

PC World suggests this machine will run out fast.

Windows 7 will be released on October 22, 2009 to the anticipation of many especially those in the netbook option circles.

At the moment most netbooks run Microsoft XP which has become slightly outdated.  Windows 7 will be a much needed improvment in the world of OS for netbooks.

According to Netbook Reviews, in Italy some Asus Netbooks are being offered pre order with Windows 7.

In the latter part of October to early November it is expected that almost all netbook options will be offered with the new Windows 7.

Let’s hope it holds up and is an improvement!
